You’ve never met your new neighbours. So how do they know your darkest secret?
When Sarah moves in with her long-distance boyfriend, she hopes it will bring them closer together emotionally. But when Pete starts working longer hours, Sarah feels lonelier than ever in her new home.
Loud noises from next door’s attic only add to Sarah’s desolation. No one has seen the people who live there, not even Pete. Nor has he ever heard them. But he’s hardly at home.
After being woken by the neighbours arguing, Sarah hears the woman cry out for help, followed by deathly silence. Convinced the woman might be hurt, or worse, she calls the police. But when the police investigate, the property looks like it hasn’t been inhabited for some time.
But Sarah knows that can’t be true. She’s heard the bangs. A woman’s scream. She couldn’t have imagined them, although that’s what Pete believes.
And then, through the wall, Sarah hears a woman talking about a secret from Sarah’s past. A secret she never wants Pete to find out about.
Sarah knows it’s not her imagination. The voice is real.
And it belongs to someone who will stop at nothing to be heard.
