Synopsis
Gale is a bright young woman of seventeen, coming of age, living in the old baroque city of Dresden during the height of the Third Reich.
When a boy from her class walks in one morning at school, wearing a Hitler Youth uniform, this simple act sets into motion a chain of events that embarks Gale on an unimaginable course.
She soon discovers her teacher Professor Doerner, who openly defies the Nazis has managed to elude arrest by the Gestapo, and she is convinced that he holds the key to salvation for her family and friends and sets out to discover his whereabouts. But her mission is derailed when just months before graduation, she and a handful of her classmates are pulled from the school, conscripted into the Bund Deutscher Mädel (League of German Women) and sent to a camp to serve in the Labor Service. Things immediately heat up when Gale’s strong will and refusal to submit immediately clashes with the camp’s vicious and sadistic matron.
Circumstances then occur and events unfold that lead the courageous young woman on both a treacherous journey and incredible adventure that includes a powerful high-ranking SS officer who wants her for his mistress. Gale’s fate appears sealed, but there is one slim chance, when someone dear to her from her past, re-enters her life and together they must pull off a dangerous mission for the Underground to secure their freedom.
